Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 received the first firmware update today, which probably includes a fix for a bug causing battery drain. Following consumer reports, Samsung disclosed that the team is working to fix a bug that causes excessive battery drain.

A few days back, a Samsung moderator acknowledged a bug causing excessive battery drain on Galaxy Watch 7 and Watch Ultra. The company seems to have prepared a fix as the Watch 7 started getting its first post-release update today.

The update can be identified via the PDA build version ending with AXG2. The update changelog mentions improvements for charging and battery. The smartwatch will now offer longer battery life as well as an enhanced charging experience.

Early buyers filled Reddit threads and community forum pages with their battery drain-related complaints. Despite using an advanced 3nm chip and a new BioActive sensor, the Watch Ultra and Watch 7 were not offering fair battery life.

The latest firmware apprantely addresses battery-related concerns. Following the Watch 7, the Watch Ultra users will also receive the update soon. Initially released in South Korea, the software will soon be expanded to more markets.

Consumers facing problems reported that the battery dies within 12 hours of general usage. It was so frustrating as rivals like OnePlus offered mind-blowing battery performance. Well, turning off AOD and Hey Google makes things slightly better.
