Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Z Fold 6 passed JerryRigEverything’s durability test. Following the release, the durability of both new foldables tested by a well-known YouTuber. The devices were tested brutally, with flame on the inner screen included.

YouTuber Zack Nelson of JerryRigEverything tested the durability of the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Z Fold 6. The company claims fruitful internal upgrades in its new foldable smartphones such as the utilization of dust resistance technology.

Galaxy Z Flip 6:

Earlier, Zack published a teardown video of the Samsung Z Flip 6 handset. The device doesn’t get any design changes, but the company worked on durability. The device is now resistant to dust apart from water, whereas the inner screen hasn’t improved much.

The main (folding) OLED of the Z Flip 6 has the same scratch resistance level as the Z Flip 5. The panel gets scratched using picks of level 2 hardness on the Moh’s Scale. Deeper grooves start forming using picks of Level 3 hardness.

Galaxy Z Fold 6:

Samsung’s Z Fold 6 remained working even after heat, scratches of metal objects, and dust. The frame is made of enhanced armor aluminum, bringing additional durability. The rim managed to face JerryRigEverything’s box cutter blade.

The YouTuber has also poured dirt on the hinge, but its folding mechanism worked fine.  As far as the survival against heat is concerned, the screen worked fine even after being burned for a few seconds using a handy flame lighter.

After the durability test and teardown, we expect the drop test of the devices to appear soon. Users keep premium phones away from water and dust, while the chances of accidental drop are always high no matter which kind of gadget you are holding.
