August 2024 security update starts rolling out with Samsung Galaxy M55

We are on the 6th day of August 2024 and Samsung has started releasing the latest security update for Galaxy devices, with the Galaxy M55 smartphone being the first to receive it. The update installs the latest Android security patch released in August 2024 to improve the system security and stability.

August 2024 security update for Samsung Galaxy M55 smartphone starts rolling out with One UI build version M556BXXU3AXG7. The installation package size of this update is around 460MB.

It addresses over 45 security issues, including 1 critical and 34 high-level vulnerabilities from Google. Notably, 1 CVE was previously resolved in earlier updates, and 2 CVEs are not applicable to Galaxy devices.

Additionally, the update contains fixes for 14 Samsung Vulnerabilities and Exposures (SVE) specific to Samsung devices and apps. This includes improvements to system services, Knox services, Galaxy Watch, and other related components.

Aside from the security, the update also optimizes the stability to provide a better performance. It also enhances some fucntions to provide a better Galaxy experience. It is a regular update so does not include any new features or changes.

It is an initial rollout so it may take some hours or days to reach all models. Notably, the update for the Galaxy M55 is live in India and the company will expand it soon in more countries.

If you have received the notification of the update then install it now to get a bug-free experience. You can also check the update by visiting the Settings app on your smartphone and opening the Software Update section.

Now, click on the Download and Install option. If any update is available, you can follow the on-screen instructions to install the update on your Galaxy smartphone.

Samsung has just initiated the August 2024 security update rollout and will add more eligible Galaxy devices soon to the updated devices list along with Galaxy M55.
