More US Galaxy S23 models getting August 2024 security update

Samsung is expanding the August 2024 security update to more Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus, and Galaxy S23 Ultra smartphones in the US. This update is now available for locked models on Comcast, DISH, T-Mobile, and Xfinity Mobile network carriers.

August 2024 security update already rolled out for locked models of Samsung Galaxy S23 series on Verizon network carrier and unlocked models in the US. The company will soon make it available in more countries.

Users of the locked models of Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus, and Galaxy S23 Ultra smartphones in the US can be verified through One UI build versions S911USQS4CXG8, S916USQS4CXG8, and S918USQS4CXG8 respectively.

The latest update contains the Security Maintenance Release (SMR), combining patches from Google and Samsung. Google addresses 1 critical, 34 high-level vulnerabilities in Android, although 2 are irrelevant to Galaxy devices.

Samsung has also addressed 14 Samsung Vulnerabilities and Exposures (SVE) to strengthen device security further. These vulnerabilities mainly impact components such as system service, Knox services, Galaxy Watch, and more.

Users can check and install the latest update through their device Settings >> Software Update >> Download and install. The update not only enhances device security but also ensures access to the most up-to-date features and enhancements.

Samsung confirmed to One UI 6.1.1 update for  Galaxy S22 series, S23 series, and S24 series, alongside the Galaxy S23 FE. This update will be released in the form of a major One UI 6.1 update, which is expected to add new Galaxy AI features.

One UI 6.1.1 update will bring a host of improvements to these devices, enhancing the user experience through improved interfaces, new functionalities, enhanced Galaxy AI features, and performance optimizations.
