Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5, Fold 4, and Fold 3 get August 2024 update

Samsung has started rolling out the August 2024 security update for three Galaxy Z series smartphones, including Galaxy Z Fold 3, Galaxy Z Fold 4, and Galaxy Z Fold 5. The update is currently available in the US and the company will soon expand it.

Users of unlocked Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Fold 5 smartphones are getting the August 2024 update. On the other side, the Korean tech giant is releasing the latest update to locked models of Galaxy Z Fold 3 in the US. You can check the latest firmware versions below.

August 2024 security patch addresses over 45 issues to make your Galaxy device more secure and reliable. It includes critical fixes from Google for vulnerabilities in Android to enhance security for Galaxy devices against potential threats.

Additionally, Samsung has resolved 14 vulnerabilities to improve system services, Knox services, Galaxy Watch, and more. It also fixes 1 high-level Samsung Semiconductor issue.

To check for the August 2024 security update manually on your Galaxy device, head toward your phone’s Settings. At the bottom, you will get the Software Update section, simply open it. Inside the submenu, you need to hit the Download and Install button if your Galaxy fetches a new OTA.

Samsung is regularly working to make the One UI 6.1.1 update available for other Galaxy smartphones including Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 4. These devices will get several enhancements along with new Galaxy AI features.
