3 Samsung devices will shortly get August 2024 update in Canada

Samsung has already started releasing the latest security update for select Galaxy devices. Now, a new report reveals the release date for the August 2024 update for the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE, Galaxy S21 FE 2022, and Galaxy S20 FE smartphones in Canada.

According to the update plan from the Canadian carrier Fido, Samsung will release the August 2024 security update for the Galaxy S21 FE 5G, Galaxy S21 FE 5G 2022, and Galaxy S20 FE 5G smartphones in Canada on August 20, 2024.

This indicates that Samsung will soon begin rolling out the latest Android security patch for the Galaxy S21 FE and Galaxy S21 FE 2022 smartphones. However, Samsung has already started the latest security update rollout for the S20 FE 5G smartphone in the US, and it will soon be available in Canada.

In addition to this, the Galaxy A14 5G and Galaxy A35 5G smartphones will receive the July 2024 security update on 21 August 2024 in Canada. These devices are also eligible for the August 2024 patch. The company will soon make the latest security update available for all compatible devices.

August 2024 Security Patch Details

Samsung’s August 2024 security patch contains the Security Maintenance Release (SMR), combining patches from Google and Samsung. Google addresses 1 critical, 34 high-level vulnerabilities in Android, although 2 are irrelevant to Galaxy devices.

Samsung has also addressed 14 Samsung Vulnerabilities and Exposures (SVE) to strengthen device security further. These vulnerabilities mainly impact components such as system service, Knox services, Galaxy Watch, and more.
