Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S24 FE and S25 series are said to drive the camera module market in the second half. The company will launch its next Fan Edition phone this year, followed by the Galaxy S25, S25 Plus, and S25 Ultra in early next year.

TheElec recently published a detailed report on Samsung’s camera supply chain. The report specifically mentions that the Galaxy S24 FE, Z Fold Slim, and Galaxy S25 series are expected to push the smartphone camera module market in H2.

Upward-Downward Trend: As there are fewer flagship products like the Galaxy S series in the second-half Galaxy smartphone lineup, the earnings of Samsung smartphone component suppliers generally follow an upward-downward trend.

In the first half, Samsung’s camera module partners have seen mixed results in earnings. While companies like Partron, MCNEX, and Namuga recorded year-on-year improvements, Powerlogix and CamSys experienced declines.

The estimated sales of Samsung smartphone camera modules in the first half were as follows:

  • Samsung Electro-Mechanics (1.047 trillion won)
  • Partron (400 billion won)
  • MCNEX (290 billion won)
  • Powerlogix (250 billion won)
  • Namuga (230 billion won)
  • Sunny Optical (China) (220 billion won)
  • CamSys (200 billion won)
  • Coasia (120 billion won)

Partron reported 740.7 billion won in revenue and 30.5 billion won in operating profit for the first half. This represents a 33% increase in revenue and a 29% increase in operating profit compared to the same period last year.

MCNEX recorded 513.6 billion won in revenue and 22.9 billion won in operating profit. Revenue increased by 16%, and operating profit surged 44 times compared to the same period last year. In the first half of last year, MCNEX’s operating profit was only 5 billion won.

Camera modules account for over 50% of the revenue of both companies. Last year, camera modules and actuators accounted for 54% of Partron’s total revenue, while camera modules accounted for 53% of MCNEX’s total revenue.
