DeepX tapped a 5nm deal with Samsung to produce its first AI semiconductor. The company has reportedly signed a contract with GaonChips to mass-produce its DX-M1 chip. This on-device AI semiconductor is to be produced using a 5nm process.

ETNews reports that DeepX has started full-scale operations targeting the “on-device AI” market. The company is about to commence mass production of its first artificial intelligence semiconductor product.

DeepX has been producing prototypes through GaonChips and Samsung Foundry Multi-Project Wafer (MPW). It has provided AI semiconductors and software development tool DXNN to over 120 companies in the US, China, Europe and Japan.

For your info, GaonChips is a Samsung Foundry cooperative design house (DSP). DeepX has signed a mass production contract with GaonChips to fabricate the “DX-M1” on-device AI semiconductor using a 5nm process.

Back in June, the client received commercial samples of the DX-M1 from Samsung Foundry. Later, it conducted tests to verify mass production, after verifying improvements in computational performance and power efficiency.

About 20 companies are currently developing products using DeepX AI chips, hence full-scale preparations for mass production are needed. DeepX expects that mass production cooperation will continue with about 10 global customers in the second half.

Galaxy S25 to be the sleekest, closer look at double-layer camera

Samsung Galaxy S25 Render

If you like small-sized phones, you won’t want to skip the Galaxy S25. Samsung’s upcoming smartphone could be just 7.2mm thick, leading the crown, which could also get a double-layer camera design – detailed in a new leak.

The Galaxy S25 could adopt a new double-layer camera ring design. The component could have a double layer, with the lower one being thinner than the above one. The redesigned rings might only be seen in the Galaxy S25 and S25 Plus models.

In addition, the Galaxy S25 may measure only 7.2mm thick, 1mm less than the Ultra. The camera rings may be 1.8mm (both layers combined) on the S25. We expect the same ring measurement on the Galaxy S25 Plus variant.

Well, there isn’t any rumor citing camera upgrades in non-S25 Ultra models. The ultra-wide camera could only be upgraded on the Ultra. Meanwhile, the company recently debuted two new image sensors under its ISOCELL umbrella.

Galaxy S25 Ultra, on the other hand, could feature a 2.4mm camera ring. It is said to be 8.2mm thick (overall), beating the iPhone 16 Pro Max in terms of thickness. The phone will also be ditching the Note-like boxy design for improved handling.

Samsung could launch the Galaxy S25 series in early 2025. There is much time left in the lineup’s official unveiling. Early rumors can’t be considered the final design decision, hence, we await some official promo material to leak out.
