Security of GenAI: 8th Samsung Security Tech Forum set for September 10

Samsung is set to hold its 8th Samsung Security Tech Forum (SSTF) at its Seoul R&D Campus on September 10. Applications for registration for the event will begin accepting on August 12, 2024. This year’s forum is themed as “Security with GenAI: Safeguarding the Future with Generative Intelligence.”

Since it began in 2017, the Samsung Security Technology Forum has aimed to boost information security and develop talent. It brings global experts and professionals to share the latest achievements in the field of security technology.

The 8th Samsung Security Tech Forum will explore how new AI technologies can improve security. Samsung Electronics’ CTO and President of Samsung Research, Kyunghoon Jeon, will start the event with a welcome speech. Following this, Taesoo Kim, Managing Director of Samsung Research’s Security & Privacy Team, will give a keynote speech.

Three experts will also speak at the event – Professor Brendan Dolan-Gavitt from New York University, Professor In-Soo Yoon from KAIST, and Professor Sang-Don Park from POSTECH. They will share their latest research and insights on security.

Moreover, the forum will include various sessions, such as presentations on recent research, Samsung’s security projects, and how AI can help detect security problems early. The security experience zone will also be set up this year to offer various content such as vulnerability detection using AI tools and hacking experience.

Kyunghoon Jeon noted that AI is expected to bring major changes to security, and this forum will be a great chance to learn from experts and discuss the future of security technology.
