August 2024 security update hitting Galaxy S23 series in Europe

Samsung Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus, and Galaxy S23 Ultra users are getting the August 2024 security update in Europe. Users of the Galaxy S23 models are already enjoying enhanced security in the US, Middle East, and India.

The latest update brings security improvement, stability optimization, bug fixes, and functional enhancements to provide a better Galaxy performance. However, the update does not include any new features or changes.

Users of the Samsung Galaxy S23 series can verify the August 2024 security update in Europe through One UI build versions given below:

  • S911BXXS6CXGA – Galaxy S23
  • S916BXXS6CXGA – Galaxy S23 Plus
  • S918BXXS6CXGA – Galaxy S23 Ultra

The installation package size of this update is around 420MB. The Korean Tech giant is regularly working to make this update available in all countries.

To check for software updates manually, head toward your phone’s Settings. At the bottom, you will get the Software Update section, simply open it. Inside the submenu, you need to hit the Download and Install button if your Galaxy fetches a new OTA.

August 2024 Security Patch Details

The latest update contains the Security Maintenance Release (SMR), combining patches from Google and Samsung. Google addresses 1 critical, 34 high-level vulnerabilities in Android, although 2 are irrelevant to Galaxy devices.

Samsung has also addressed 14 Samsung Vulnerabilities and Exposures (SVE) to strengthen device security further. These vulnerabilities mainly impact components such as system service, Knox services, Galaxy Watch, and more.
