Google has released a new beta update for its Messages app, which brings an option for the Gemini button. Now, users can hide the Gemini button on the Google Messages. The new beta update can be identified through version 20240808_01_RC00.

The new option for Gemini Button allows users to manage their interface more effectively. When the button is hidden, the main “Start chat” button will still be visible, but the Gemini button will no longer appear. The button automatically shrinks to a rounded square while scrolling the chats list. However, the sparkle container remains unchanged to ensure that its presence is minimized without affecting the functionality of the app.

To hide the Gemini Button, you just need to open Google Messages >> Settings of the app >> Gemini in Messages >> Show Gemini Button >> Turn it off by tapping on the toggle. this option is useful for those who want a less cluttered interface.

Before this beta update, the Gemini button was always visible and some users found it too irritating. At that time, it could not be removed or hidden. Now, users have an option to turn off this button if they prefer a cleaner look.

If you are testing the latest Google Messages beta update then you can check this new option to hide the Gemini button. Notably, this feature is not yet available in the stable release of the app, but users can expect it to be included in future updates.

Last month, Samsung decided to stop pre-installing its Samsung Messages app and will use the Google Messages app in the US. The company will no longer include its Samsung Messages app as a default feature starting with the latest smartphones including the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Galaxy Z Fold 6.
