Older Google phones could get Pixel 9 features with Pixel Camera 9.5. Someone extracted Pixel 9’s camera application and uploaded it on APKMirror. It brings select new features from Google’s latest flagships to older models.

The latest Pixel Camera 9.5 installed on Pixel 8 Pro unlocks new options, as confirmed by 9to5Google. The upgraded app introduces a new 5-second timer preset, joining the existing 3-second and 10-second options.

In addition, Pixel 8 Pro users can access the Guided Frame feature from within the camera app without having to go into the device’s accessibility settings. Enhanced Magnifier 2.0 with text search capabilities and PiP support is also available.

Meanwhile, power tricks like Panorama mode or the AI-powered “Add Me” for group photos are missing. Some enhancements are included in the app’s APK file but Google will have to enable it for supported devices, if there’s any such plan.

It is reported that Video Boost improvements like Night Sight or AI-powered 8K upscaling are also unavailable. Therefore, it’s up to Google to expand these features to older Pixel phones, though its plans in that regard are unclear.
