Samsung to launch short, less buggy One UI 7.0 Beta program
Samsung is rigorously testing One UI 7.0 Alpha internally. In an exciting development, a Samsung leaker revealed that this year’s One UI 7.0 Beta program will not last longer (8 to 9 Betas) and offer a Stable firmware-like experience.
According to SamsonSirJi / X, Samsung is focussing on resolving most bugs before One UI 7.0 enters the Beta stage. As a result, the company has delayed the launch of this year’s One UI Beta Program, with all the rumors stopped floating.
Last year, the One UI 6 Beta started for the Galaxy S23 series in early August. Meanwhile, we are heading toward September and there’s no sign of the Beta Program. However, this halt promises a fruitful Beta experience for Galaxy owners.
The One UI staff members rigorously testing the Alpha build. The task is to find and fix all the minor and major issues that could ruin the consumer experience. Once the Beta reaches the public, the focus of developers will shift to further refinements.
It seems Samsung is learning from previous experiences of Beta activity. Last year, there were serious issues in Beta such as overheating, battery drain, and animation failure. The same case with One UI 7 Beta is unlikely due to precautions.
Android ecosystem also faced a sharp strategic shift by Google. The company shifted its October hardware event to August. The latest Pixel 9 phones come pre-loaded with Android 14, which would have gotten Android 15 with the October launch.
Well, Android 15’s Beta testing is about to be concluded soon. While the leaker doesn’t mention a specific release date, we might see the launch of One UI 7.0 Beta right before Google pushes Stable Android 15 update to Pixel devices.
