Samsung continues to expand its mid-range Galaxy smartphone lineup in South Korea. The company will debut Galaxy Quantum 5 through SK Telecom in South Korea. The company has released six mid-range Galaxy models in Korea this year.

With the expansion, Samsung’s market share in the Korean market has also increased in the first half. The company’s going to launch Galaxy Quantum 5 on August 28, which will be a quantum chip-encrypted smartphone with 5G connectivity.

The Quantum 5 is based on the mid-range model Galaxy A55. The selling price has been set at 618,200 won, the same as its predecessor. Thanks to the quantum random number generator chip, it encrypts authentication information within the device.

Starting with the Galaxy A35 5G (449,900 won) in January, Samsung released the Galaxy A15 LTE (319,000 won) in March, the Buddy 3 (399,300 won) in April, the Galaxy A35 5G (499,400 won) in June, and the Galaxy Wide 7 (374,000 won).

With the launch of the Galaxy Quantum 5, the total number of mid-range smartphones released by Samsung this year has increased to six. However, the KT-exclusive Galaxy Jump is unlikely to release this year.

Samsung could launch more new smartphones in the coming months. The Galaxy S24 FE is reportedly coming in October. The Galaxy A16 could be launched in the first half of the next year, following the recent debut of A06 in Vietnam.
