New ‘Mark all as read’ feature coming to WhatsApp

WhatsApp internally testing a new “Mark all as read” feature for its users. The button will allow users to mark all the unread chats as read. It would be quite useful for users who have important contacts on the chat list alongside active groups.

Leaving messages unread isn’t surprising on WhatsApp. The app continuously displays those unread messages whenever a new notification arrives. To stop that bombing, you need to mute notifications or mark the chat as read.

Muting or marking individual chats may waste your time. To solve this burden, WhatsApp is working to bring a new “Mark all as read” feature. It will be available right above the Settings access button within the hamburger menu.

This minor improvement will have a big impact on a certain user base. Whether a heavy crowd of unseen chats gathers, you just need to hit a single toggle. It will help you focus on important messages that are worth your attention.

Currently, the new toggle is under development. WABetaInfo managed to access the upcoming toggle, which has not dropped in Beta yet. If you are a Beta tester, try your luck by upgrading the application to 2.24.18.11 version on Android.
