As of now, the August 2024 security patch for the Samsung Galaxy S24 series has been rolled out in several countries, including India, the US, the Middle East, and Brazil. However, Canadian Galaxy S24 users have been waiting for their turn to receive the August 2024 update.

The good news is that Canadian Galaxy S24 users will soon receive the August 2024 security update. According to an updated schedule from Fido, the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24 Plus, and Galaxy S24 Ultra smartphones in Canada are set to get the August update on September 10.

In addition to the Galaxy S24 series, the updated plan reveals that the Galaxy A52 5G and Galaxy XCover 6 Pro will receive the August 2024 security patch on September 4. The Galaxy Tab A7 Lite is also slated to get the update on September 10.

It is worth mentioning that Samsung’s August 2024 security patch is a part of the Security Maintenance Release (SMR), which integrates updates from both Google and Samsung.

Google has addressed 1 critical and 34 high-level vulnerabilities in Android with this patch, though 2 of these vulnerabilities do not affect Galaxy devices. Samsung has also resolved 14 Samsung Vulnerabilities and Exposures (SVE), enhancing security across various components including system services, Knox services, and the Galaxy Watch.

Furthermore, the Galaxy S24 series is currently in the testing phase for the major One UI 6.1 update, based on One UI 6.1.1. This update is expected to be rolled out soon for the Galaxy S24 series, as well as for the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S22 series.
