Say Goodbye to Monthly Updates: Samsung Galaxy Note 20’s New Update Plan

Samsung has recently released its September 2024 software update plan, and there’s a big change for the Galaxy Note 20 series. Starting in September 2024, these phones will no longer get monthly security updates. Instead, they will now receive updates every three months.

In year 2020, the Galaxy Note 20 series launched with Android 10 and has already completed its three-year promise for Android updates. This means these devices will not get the new Android 14-based One UI 6.0 and 6.1 versions or later. Now, Galaxy Note 20, Galaxy Note 20 5G, Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G have shifted to a quarterly update plan.

Earlier this year, in April 2024, Samsung mistakenly moved the Galaxy Note 20 series to a quarterly update plan along with the Galaxy S20 series. However, the company quickly reverted to monthly updates. Now, the quarterly update plan is back in place for the Galaxy Note 20 series.

Even though the Galaxy Note 20 series will now receive updates less frequently, it will still work well. However, you won’t be able to enjoy the newest security and features available in the monthly updates.

If you’re using a Galaxy Note 20 and thinking about getting a new phone, it might be a good idea to check out the latest Samsung Galaxy models. These newer devices come with the latest features and software.

The Galaxy Note 20 series will now get security updates every three months instead of every month. If you want to keep up to date with the newest security and features, you might consider upgrading to a newer Samsung Galaxy device.
