TalkBack gets Gemini AI boost, but not for Samsung Galaxy
Google is fueling TalkBack with Gemini AI, but it won’t be available on Samsung devices. The company has recently pushed Android 15 source code to AOSP, with announcements made sideways including Gemini AI-powered TalkBack.
AndroidAuthority reports that Gemini AI-powered TalkBack won’t arrive on Samsung Galaxy devices. The reason is the company has its version of the TalkBack app on Galaxy devices, leading Android’s version to remain unsupported.
TalkBack is like a boon for folks with visual impairments. It offers an easier way to navigate menus and other areas having a clear view of the display. Integration with Gemini AI will surely be a game-changer for those who rely on the application.
Google officially announced its plans to level up the TalkBack with the power of Gemini. The feature will get a robust upgrade to provide users with audio descriptions for images without the need for embedded alt text.
Samsung uses its own custom set of accessibility tools, resulting in native Android Accessibility Suite rendering unrelated to Galaxies. Well, the manufacturer would work with Google to bring these TalkBack upgrades with Galaxy AI update.
