Samsung may debut the world’s first rollable screen smartphone in 2025. This comes after the Huawei Mate XT launch which became the first tri-fold device. The company is reportedly gearing up to commence the rollable mobile era.

According to TheElec, Samsung may launch its rollable screen phone in as early as 2025. The device could sport a 12.4-inch panel, reaching the laptop’s screen size. It will be Samsung’s answer to Huawei, countering its tri-fold device.

Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 6 expands to 7.6 inches when unfolded. Going a step further, the Huawei’s tri-fold measures 10.2-inch when entirely unfolded. Beyond that, the Galaxy rollable will likely boast a 12.4-inch screen.

In addition to a massive rollable screen, Samsung’s innovative gadget is said to feature an under-display camera. It will be another upgrade over the Huawei’s Mate XT which has a punch-hole camera for selfies and video calling.

Samsung has been working on several innovative screen technologies. The company’s Display division also showcased rollable and tri-fold prototypes at key events. However, some of the unique innovations haven’t yet been commercialized.

Motorola also showcased its rollable screen concept device. Meanwhile, there’s no information regarding its arrival or tentative launch timeline. Samsung will be the first to debut with a rollable screen phone if any other rival doesn’t enter it.

Apple is also preparing to enter the foldable device market by the end of 2026. Seeing the entry of its biggest rival, the Korean tech giant would surely push the game. Therefore, an innovative produce offering is inevitable from Samsung soon.
