Galaxy S25 and S26 camera rumor points to Samsung’s slow pace of innovation
Samsung’s Galaxy S series smartphones are known for their exceptional camera capabilities. However, it seems Samsung has become lazy about bringing the latest camera sensors as rumor suggests no upgrade in Galaxy S25 and S26.
Tipster IceUniverse claims Samsung has no plans for the Galaxy S26 camera upgrade. It means the smartphone could feature the same camera as the Galaxy S24, which has been reused since the Galaxy S22 was released in early 2022.
Samsung brought a camera upgrade to its Galaxy S base models in 2022. The Galaxy S22 and S22 Plus were shipped with a new sensor with 50-megapixel resolution. The rumor suggests that the company wants to stick for the next two generations.
Samsung’s Galaxy S21 and S21 Plus come with a 12MP primary camera sensor. 50MP in S22 was a pretty major upgrade in terms of camera hardware. The same sensor was used in the Galaxy S23 in 2023 and Galaxy S24 this year.
The South Korean tech giant could launch the Galaxy S25 series in January 2025. There are no rumors of primary sensor upgrades in the next-gen phones. Beyond that, the latest suggests Galaxy S26 could follow the same pursuit.
