Upcoming Galaxy S25 Ultra crushes iPhone 16 Pro Max, thanks Snapdragon 8 Gen 4
Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra is set to crush Apple’s best iPhone 16 Pro Max. The smartphone will likely debut early next year, but performance scores revealed in advance. The upcoming handset was just spotted on Geekbench with mindblowing results.
The Galaxy S25 Ultra (SM-S938U) was recently spotted on Geekbench, scoring amazing performance results. Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 is playing a key role here, with performance expected to rise further with software optimization.
The upcoming Samsung flagship scored 3,069 points in single-core CPU performance test and 9,080 points in the multi-core CPU performance test. The multi core score already surpassed iPhone 16 Pro Max’ A18 Pro chip with huge 18% margin.
Since single-core score remains similar to the A18 Pro, we expect a sharp increment in the coming months of development. Qualcomm is all set to introduce Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 next month, while Samsung could launch S25 series in January next year.
Samsung has been already maintaining lead in terms of graphics performance. The Galaxy S24 Ultra also exceeds the iPhone 16 Pro Max in 3DMark’s Wildlife Extreme GPU performance test, and the next flagship will crush its CPU lead too.
Apple launched the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max earlier this month. The Pro lineup uses A18 Pro chipset, manufactured using TSMC’s 3nm process. The last year’s chip was also manufactured on 3nm process technology.
Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 will be the first Qualcomm mobile chip to utilize 3nm process. The previous chip was fabricated using the enhanced 4nm process. Inclusion of new Oryon CPU is set to make a mega debut with headscratching improvements.
The test device was running Android 15-based One UI 7. Samsung is currently working on One UI 7, while the S25 series will come pre-loaded with One UI 7.1. This means, the software part is still yet to be optimized, suggesting another increase.
