Samsung officially launched the 990 EVO Plus for PCs and laptops. The company’s new SSD comes with PCIe 4.0 support and latest NAND technology. It is an ideal solution for consumers seeking enhanced performance and power efficiency.

The new Samsung 990 EVO Plus will be available to consumers worldwide at a manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) of $109.99 for the 1TB model, $184.99 for the 2TB model, and $344.99 for the 4TB model.

The 990 EVO Plus SSD introduces sequential read speeds up to 7250MB/s and write speeds up to 6300MB/s. The company brought this massive performance boost by utilizing its latest 8th generation V-NAND and 5nm controller.

It also features an innovative nickel-coated heat shield that minimizes overheating to deliver 73% higher power efficiency. The 990 EVO Plus offers ample capacity with a 4TB model to meet today’s growing storage requirements

The 990 EVO Plus’s performance (1,050K IOPS and 1,400K input/output operations per second for random write) rivals SSDs paired with DRAM. As it doesn’t use a DRAM cache, it becomes an optimal solution for gaming and AI tasks.

Thanks to the intelligent TurboWrite 2.0 the 990 EVO Plus offers rapid file transfer speeds and reduced lag. It also supports Samsung Magician software – a suite of optimization tools for enhanced functionality for all Samsung SSDs.
