Samsung phones to get new anti-spam shield in Google Messages

Samsung Messages app update

Samsung phones could soon get another anti-spam feature in Google Messages. APKTeardown by AndroidAuthority brings a sneak peek at what coming next. Google is preparing to deploy an intelligent method to sort spam messages.

Google Messages is preparing to add a “cross-country” category for organizing texts: ones from unknown international sources. It could be available as an optional category, which you can decide to implement, and which country codes would be barred.

Though some manual work is to be done, it will help reduce spam a lot. Consider you have no contact links with an international business, but getting regular messages. These specified texts will be categorized under cross-country.

Samsung is pushing Galaxy users to make Google Messages default. The company believes that the expansion of the Google Messages app will boost RCS availability. Google is therefore continuing to improve spam protection with new features.

The problem of spam isn’t ending anytime soon. Google Messages manages to identify most of the suspicious messages and mark them as spam. Cross-country could be just like the ability to manually tag texts for sorting.
