Samsung launches Health Research Stack to upscale Galaxy Watch/Ring experience

Samsung officially launched the Health Research Stack to upscale the Galaxy Watch and Galaxy Ring experiences. The project aims to strengthen data-based digital health research, ultimately benefitting developers and end users.

The new project’s debut shows Samsung values precise data measurement and analysis. It’s an open-source project, which supports digital health research using mobile and wearable devices in Android and Wear OS environments.

Samsung Health Research Stack platform provides IT developers and medical researchers with a software environment to conveniently and safely plan services using relevant data. It aims to help researchers implement the features they want.

Samsung Health Research Stack promotes more efficient digital health research. It has many features including an app SDK for easy app creation, a back-end service to manage data collected by the app and a web portal to assist with research design and data analysis.

It features enhanced support for the Sensor SDK to help researchers create watch apps, which measure and utilize electrocardiogram, blood oxygen level, and body composition data from the innovative Galaxy Watch and Ring sensors.

Samsung confirmed that the new Health Research Stack will be showcased at the Developer Conference 2024 on October 3 in San Jose, California. Developers can join a Code Lab session during the event to experience the latest features firsthand.
