New Samsung update could crush your Galaxy, pained many

Software updates are meant to improve the phone’s functioning and add new features. Smartphone vendors include bug fixes aimed at performance improvements. Meanwhile, glitchy firmware could ruin your smartphone and stored data, sometimes.

It seems, Galaxy S10 and Note 10 users have become a victims of the problem this time. Samsung ended up updating these devices given support completion. Meanwhile, the latest SmartThings Framework update may be to blame.

Affected Galaxy users discuss (via AndroidAuthority) the SmartThings Framework update as the reason behind the device brick. The software stuck at the boot loop, leaving the phone unusable – significantly disappointing users due to the cause.

As the phones are stuck in the boot loop, data transfer can’t be done. There’s no way to access the device but to factory reset which wipes the whole storage including your files, photos, videos, installed apps, and social accounts.

As the factory reset could be done manually, you will need to unlock FRP during setup. You will need to log in with the same Google account that was logged in before. So if you don’t have access to that particular Google Account, another hurdle is loaded.

Samsung hasn’t yet acknowledged the problem whether it’s widespread or limited to a few models. Contact your nearby Samsung service center if you are impacted by the glitch, and check if anything better can be done before factory reset.
