Samsung officially launched the Galaxy A16 5G in the Netherlands. The device packs a 2.4GHz octa-core processor, sAMOLED screen, and 50MP camera, and supports 6x OS upgrades. We expect the market availability will be expanded soon.

The Galaxy A16 5G sports a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution and 90Hz refresh rate. The camera department includes a 50MP wide, 5MP ultrawide, and 2MP macro camera alongside a 13MP selfie snapper.

The phone has 4GB RAM that is paired with 128GB storage, which you can extend by up to 1.5 TB. More RAM and storage configuration variants could be made available once Samsung expands its market availability.

Samsung Galaxy A16 measures 164.4 x 77.9 x 7.9 and weighs 200 grams. It packs 5000mAh battery with up to 25W charging support. Supported sensors include an Accelerometer, Fingerprint Sensor, Gyro Sensor, Geomagnetic Sensor, Light Sensor and Virtual Proximity Sensing.

The best part: Samsung confirmed 6 years OS upgrades policy with the Galaxy A16. It’s the first smartphone that will get 6 times of major Android updates and regular security patch updates until October 2030.

Samsung announced 7 OS updates for its 2024 flagship phones. Now, the A16 and later mid-range phones are confirmed to be supported by 6 years of software updates. Starting with Android 15, major updates up to Android 20 are promised.
