Samsung has increased demand for Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 hinting at the chip’s exclusivity in the Galaxy S25 family globally. According to Ming-Chi Kuo, Qualcomm’s latest flagship will bring significant growth given many factors.
The analyst suggests more extended shipping period, increased demand, and changes in the Chinese market will push Qualcomm’s profits further. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 will be a big hit for the biggest mobile chipset designer.
The market share of Chinese brands significantly increased in mainland China. Samsung has a negligible presence in the market, while Apple’s sales growth remains flat. The development hints at a growing landscape of Chinese smartphone makers.
Samsung confirmed 3nm Exynos 2500 during the launch of Exynos 2400. The latter powers Galaxy S24 and S24 Plus in most markets except for the US. Samsung Foundry is facing yield issues with the 3nm process, leading to the Exynos 2500 cancellation.
We’ve heard the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 could be used in vanilla Galaxy S25. However, the chipset is now rumored to power the Galaxy S25 FE next year. This means, Samsung could repeat S23 series-like chip reliance next year.

Samsung has begun releasing the October 2024 security update for Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus, and Galaxy S23 Ultra smartphones. The update is rolling out in the US and the company will soon make it available in more countries.
Users of the Samsung Galaxy S23 series are getting the October 2024 security update in the US through One UI builds given below.

- Galaxy S23 Plus – S916USQS4CXI4
- Galaxy S23 Ultra – S918USQS4CXI4
The fresh update brings fixes for some issues that users encountered in previous versions to make your Galaxy S23 more stable and secure. The installation package size of this update is around 400MB.
October 2024 security update brings important fixes from both Google and Samsung, addressing vulnerabilities in the Android operating system and Samsung’s software. Google fixes 2 critical and 28 high-level issues, with 1 previously resolved and 2 not affecting Galaxy devices.
