Samsung has already started releasing the October 2024 security update for Galaxy S21 FE smartphone in the US and the company is now making it available for users in India. This update is currently rolling out for Exynos models and the company will expand it to Snapdragon variants soon.

Users of Exynos Samsung Galaxy S21 FE models in India are getting the October 2024 security update with One UI build version G990EXXSBFXJ1. The installation package size of this update is around 262MB. The update is rolling out gradually so it may take hours to days to reach all models.

The fresh update protects Galaxy devices against security threats by integrating Android and Samsung’s latest security patches. Additionally, it includes several bug fixes aimed at providing a more reliable and efficient user experience.

Notably, the October 2024 security update packs fixes from Google and Samsung. Google’s patches tackle 2 critical and 28 high-level issues, although 1 was already sorted out and 2 don’t apply to Galaxy phones. There are fixes for 12 SVEs, especially in system services and Knox. Also, Samsung Semiconductor addresses a high-level vulnerability to enhance performance.

To install the update, open the smartphone’s Settings, select ‘Software Update’, and then ‘Download and install’. Following these steps will ensure that your Galaxy smartphone is up-to-date with the latest security protections.
