More Galaxy S21 models getting October 2024 update in the US [Unlocked]

Samsung rolled out the October 2024 security update for the locked Galaxy S21 series in the US and the company is now making this update available for unlocked models. The update improves system security and stability to provide a better Galaxy experience.

The fresh update improves the security and stability to provide a better experience. Notably, the latest patch contains the Security Maintenance Release (SMR), combining patches from Google and Samsung.

Google addresses 2 critical, 28 high-level vulnerabilities in Android, although 1 is irrelevant to Galaxy devices. In addition, Samsung has fixed 12 Samsung Vulnerabilities and Exposures (SVE) to strengthen device security further. These vulnerabilities mainly impact components such as system service, Knox services, and more.

Users of the unlocked models of the Samsung Galaxy S21 series are getting the October 2024 security update with One UI build versions given below.

  • G991U1UESDGXJ1 – Galaxy S21
  • G996U1UESDGXJ1 – Galaxy S21 Plus
  • G998U1UESDGXJ1 – Galaxy S21 Ultra

To check the update, you just need to navigate to the device’s Settings, then a Software update, and Download and install. If you have received the update, install it now to get enhanced features.

The update is based on One UI 6.1 and Android 14, and the S21 models are also eligible for the One UI 7 update. The Galaxy S21 Plus has already been tested with One UI 7 and Android 14 on Geekbench Platform with a single-core score of 1427 and a multi-core score of 2528.
