Report ruins Galaxy S25 Ultra OLED upgrade expectations

Samsung Galaxy S25 series would end up using OLED panels with M13 material set. It was believed that the most advanced M14 OLED will be featured in the Galaxy S25 flagships.

According to ETNews, Samsung Display will supply its OLED panels with M13 material set to Samsung Electronics for the Galaxy S25, S25 Plus and S25 Ultra.

The report says the company will release the S25 series early next year. The Display unit has reportedly started getting orders for the S25’s OLED, with production commencing soon.

ETNews sources reportedly confirmed that materials for the S25’s luminescent layer are handled by companies like DuPont, UDC, Duksan Neolux, Samsung SDI, Merck, and SFC.

  • DuPont, UDC, and Duksan Neolux are responsible for Red materials
  • Samsung SDI and Merck are responsible for Green materials
  • SFC and Idemitsu Kosan are responsible for Blue materials

Apart from this, LG Chem is supplying the A-ETL to enhance Blue element brightness, and Duksan Neolux is supplying the HTL along with the Red prime.

Just recently, RossYoung revealed that Samsung would not use Samsung Display’s OLED panels with M14 material set to freeze the potential price hike due to the pricey Snapdragon 8 Elite.

The display sizes are 6.16 inches for S25, 6.66 inches for S25+, and 6.86 inches for S25 Ultra. The OLED panels will feature Low-Temperature Polycrystalline Oxide tech for low-power operation.
