Samsung Galaxy A56 5G could get a new 12MP selfie camera. The company will likely debut its new premium A series phone in March next year. Meanwhile, rumors have now started to reveal key specifications such as the camera.

GalaxyClub reports Samsung could bring a new 12MP selfie camera to Galaxy A56 5G. The rear camera could remain unchanged, consisting of a 50MP primary sensor, a 12MP ultrawide camera, and a 5MP macro lens.

The new 12MP sensor will replace Samsung’s favorite 32MP selfie snapper on the Galaxy A5x in 2025. The South Korean tech giant has been equipping its premium Galaxy A phones with 32MP front shooter since 2020.

Recent Galaxy S series flagships also debut a 12MP front camera. It remains to be seen whether the A56’s 12MP sensor matches with the S models. While 12MP sounds downgrade from 32MP, it will be just the opposite in practical aspect.

Exynos 1580

Samsung recently announced the Exynos 1580 processor. It’s manufactured on third-generation 4nm process technology. The company highlighted upgraded camera experiences, suggesting a potential hardware shift in the next model.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy A56 5G doesn’t seem to be getting an upgraded primary camera. Samsung might improve the photography experience through Galaxy AI. The selfie camera will surely be improved with the inclusion of a newer sensor.
