Gemini app gets Dark Mode upgrades on Android

Google has made some amazing updates to its Gemini app on Android, especially for users who prefer dark mode. Now, the app looks better and is easier to use.

After introducing the “Ask Gemini” feature this week, Gemini has got some more tweaks for a better experience. The new changes are visible in Gemini with Google App beta version 14.2.

It redesigns the ‘plus’ sign located at the left, which lets you upload files and images. Instead of being inside a circle, the ‘plus’ sign is now larger and easier to see. This makes it simpler to find and use, especially during chats.

In addition, the microphone and camera icons get a slight change. The light blue background they used to have is now a soft light gray. This new color matches the Gemini Live button, which gives a more consistent look across the app.

While the new design might not be as too highlighted as before, it helps make the app simpler and cleaner. It also helps to reduce glare as it is visually appealing for dark-mode users.

Aside from the dark mode, the Gemini is also going to offer a resizing feature for generative AI images. Android users will be able to expand or shrink the canvas of AI-generated images within the Gemini app.
