4+ Years On: Verizon still updates Samsung Galaxy S20, Note 20

Verizon kicked off the latest software updates for the Galaxy S20 and Note 20 series. Samsung’s popular flagship phones still receiving firmware support itself solidifies the company’s commitment to consumer security.

Eligible devices for October updates by Verizon include Galaxy S20, S20+, S20 Ultra, Note 20, and Note 20 Ultra. The rollout of software has already started and your phone should have received the OTA, with installation due for your approval.

The above-listed models are eligible for the October 2024 security patch. As confirmed by the smartphone manufacturer, this patch fixes more than 40 security vulnerabilities discovered in the previous software.

How to update: Settings > Software update > Download and install.

Samsung launched the Galaxy S20 series in early 2020. The Galaxy Note 20 series was announced in the third quarter of the same year. Both flagship lineups have completed their software lifespan of four years.

Verizon isn’t going beyond but protecting consumer security and privacy with the latest software release. The carrier is pushing Samsung’s ambitions to keep Galaxies secured against threats and vulnerabilities in Android operating system.
