Early Samsung evidence solidifies the existence of the Galaxy S25 Slim. As Apple prepares an iPhone 17 Air (or Slim) for 2025, Samsung could rival it with a sleek S25 variant. For the first time, the fourth model of the S25 series surfaced online.

As spotted by Smartprix, Samsung’s SM-S937U is spotted as the market name “Galaxy” in the GSMA IMEI database. Such listing usually happens when Samsung adds an under-development handset for testing purposes before launching.

Samsung has been working on a Slim variant of the Galaxy S25 series. The smartphone could be sleeker than other S25 models. However, the flagship range will remain intact regarding variants; Standard, Plus, and Ultra.

As far as I know, Samsung could launch the Galaxy SM-S937U in the next six months. The smartphone has entered the testing phase, as it was spotted on the IMEI database. The mode numbers for other S25 models are as follows:

  • SM-S931U – Galaxy S25 5G
  • SM-S936U – Galaxy S25 Plus 5G
  • SM-S938U – Galaxy S25 Ultra 5G

The rumor floated amid reports that Apple confirmed the iPhone 17 Air development. The Galaxy S25 Slim could launch by April next year, following the S25 series around January.  The company is targeting two different aims with a single shot:

  1. Testing potential Galaxy S26 series design revamp with S25 Slim.
  2. Rivalling Apple’s iPhone 17 Air in key markets including the United States.

Samsung will likely introduce the new Galaxy S25 series early next year. The slimmer model is said to be unveiled sometime in April 2025. The S25 Slim should come with flagship specifications matching the Galaxy S25 series.

Apple could launch the iPhone 17 Air along with the iPhone 17 series in the third quarter of 2025. The phone is rumored to be priced even higher than the Pro Max and could feature a 6.6-inch display and a single rear camera.
