Samsung and Synopsys announced their collaboration for 3nm AI-powered mobile chip. Both companies announced they had accomplished the production tapeout for a Samsung high-performance mobile SoC design.

According to AnandTech, future Samsung mobile SoCs could get flagship CPU and GPU, with 300MHz higher performance using Synopsys.ai full stack AI-driven EDA suite.

The report also hints a broad portfolio of Synopsys IP on Samsung Foundry’s latest 3nm Gate-All-Around (GAA) process technologies will further empower the company’s mobile AI processor portfolio.

The combination of Synopsys.ai EDA suite, Synopsys Fusion Compiler RTL-to-GDSII solution for PPA, and Synopsys DSO.ai was critical to achieving these goals, reports embeddedcomputing.

“Our longstanding collaboration has delivered leading-edge SoC designs. This is a remarkable milestone to successfully achieve the highest performance, power and area on the most advanced mobile CPU cores and SoC designs in collaboration with Synopsys,” said Kijoon Hong, vice president of SLSI at Samsung Electronics.

“Not only have we demonstrated that AI-driven solutions can help us achieve PPA targets for even the most advanced GAA process technologies, but through our partnership we have established an ultra-high-productivity design system that is consistently delivering impressive results,” Kijoon Hong added.

Samsung Galaxy S24 FE

Samsung Galaxy S24 FE could be more expensive than its predecessor in the US. Trusted leaker suggests a price hike of $50 in the United States. Although there are some notable upgrades, would it still remain a Fan Edition?

According to Onleaks (via Smartprix), Samsung Galaxy S24 FE could start at $649 in the US. The phone’s 256GB storage model could have a price tag of $709. The next Fan Edition is going to be an additional $50 pricey in a key market.

Samsung has some notable upgrades for the S24 FE.

Galaxy S23 FE debuted with an older generation chipset. It isn’t the same case for the S24 FE as Samsung is all set to fuel the Exynos 2400. It is said to be an underclocked variant of the one that powers the Galaxy S24 and S24 Plus.

Samsung is also bringing the Galaxy S24 FE with a 6.7-inch screen. Previous Fan Edition models use a 6.4-inch AMOLED display. The larger display’s resolution will be Full HD+, supporting 120Hz refresh rate and up to 1900nits peak brightness.

The S24 FE is also getting a 4600mAh battery – larger than the S23 FE. Meanwhile, there’s no modification in the charging speed, capped at 25W. It could support 15W wireless and 4.5W reverse wireless charging too.

Other features on the Galaxy S24 FE include an in-display fingerprint reader, stereo speakers, up to 7 years of Android updates, Galaxy AI suite, an IP68 rating, a 4,600mAh battery with support for 25W wired, 15W wireless charging, and 4.5W reverse wireless charging.

In terms of optics, the smartphone could feature a triple camera setup alongside a 10MP selfie snapper. The rear camera module could consist of a 50-megapixel primary, a 12-megapixe ultrawide and an 8-megapixel Telephoto.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra Cover

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra could continue to feature a camera design like its predecessor. The company is working on its 2025 flagship lineup, scheduled to be released in January. A tipster leaked cover images, showcasing the design.

IceUniverse posted a handful of alleged Galaxy S25 Ultra cover images. The images are seemingly of third-party silicon covers for the next Ultra. The corners are no longer angular/sharp, solidifying the design shown in CAD renders.

The backplate could have the same sensor arrangement as the S24 Ultra. Three sensors; ultrawide, primary, and periscope could be placed vertically, followed by laser autofocus, LED flash, and the 3x telephoto camera.

The change could be in the camera ring design, which is yet to be exactly revealed. In the CAD renders, the phone featured Galaxy Z Fold 6-like rings. However, tipster IceUniverse claimed the rings will look similar to the S24 Ultra.

We can also see the volume rockers and power key on the right side of the frame. The bottom side could have an S Pen slot, USB Type-C port, primary microphone, and speaker grill. A SIM card slot could also be available in the consumer unit.

The smartphone is said to have an upgraded ultrawide camera. The S24 Ultra’s ultrawide sensor is said to be replaced with a new 50-megapixel solution. The 3x Telephoto was also rumored to be replaced with a 50MP sensor, but it’s not happening.

Galaxy S25 Ultra will be equipped with Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 for Galaxy chip. Qualcomm’s next-gen processor will be announced next month. It will likely to surpass Apple iPhone 16 Pro’s A18 Pro chip in terms of CPU and GPU performance.
