BREAKING: No Exynos in Galaxy S25, Samsung may go all Snapdragon again!
Samsung Galaxy S25 might repeat the Galaxy S23-like Snapdragon exclusivity. Exynos chipset returned with the Galaxy S24 series this year, but it might not be the same case next year as credible source Ming-Chi Kuo claims in the latest revealing.
According to Kuo, Samsung might exclusively use Snapdragon SoC in the Galaxy S25 series. This year, the Galaxy S24 Ultra internationally uses the Snapdragon chipset, however, the S24 and S24 Plus use Exynos in Europe, Africa, and Asian markets.
This year, Qualcomm’s share in the Galaxy S24 series is about 40%, approx 60% Exynos. Given a lower-than-expected 3nm yield, Samsung is unlikely to ship the Exynos 2500 processor. It comes as a quite surprising development for Galaxy fans!
In his latest revealing on X, Kuo specifically mentioned that Qualcomm will likely be the sole SoC supplier for the Samsung Galaxy S25 (vs. 40% for the S24), as the Exynos 2500 may not ship due to Samsung’s lower-than-expected 3nm yield.
Interestingly, we haven’t got any new input related to Samsung’s work on Exynos 2500. Previously, there were reports that the next Exynos would beat Qualcomm’s SoC in terms of power efficiency. However, it’s unlikely to hit market shelves with the next-gen Galaxy S flagships.
So whether you are from the US or not, you might be getting Snapdragon-powered Galaxy S25 phones. Exynos 2400 proved to have improved performance and efficiency. Still, a lack of consumer trust doesn’t empower Samsung to make a bold decision.
Well, the source noted that Qualcomm may increase the price of its Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 by 25 to 30%. This is due to the utilization of the new Oryon CPU architecture. TSMC may also charge more because of its new 3nm process node and optimization of on-device AI capabilities.
Samsung Galaxy A16 will be announced soon in LTE and 5G options. As we await the official unveiling, the phone appeared on the FCC platform. The 5G variant is also spotted on the TUV Rheinland listing, revealing key specs.
FCC listing revealed Galaxy A16 4G’s Mac address, Wi-Fi Mac Address, and serial number. The handset carries an A3LSMA165M FCC ID that will be equipped with connectivity features such as 5G, LTE, NFC, Bluetooth, and GPS.
The listing also suggests the charger will have the model number EP-TA800 and the data cable EP-DN980. Meanwhile, the TUV Rheinland database revealed that both phones will support 25W fast charging at 9V and 2.77A.
The 5G model carries the SM-A166B/DS model number and A3LSMA166M FCC ID. The phone will have 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and NFC. The sketch aligns with the design revealed in CAD renders, suggesting triple rear cameras.
Both LTE and 5G variants may come with a rated battery of 4860mAh and 5,000mAh typical. We are already aware of the nearly final design and specifications of the devices. Key Island will also be slapped surrounding the volume rockers.
The 5G model could use Exynos 1330 chip and LTE could get power from MediaTek Dimensity 6300. Both network variants will boot Android 14-based One UI 6.1 out of the box, featuring up to six years of software updates support.
