One UI 7 Launch

Everyone’s waiting for the Android 15 update and Samsung just dropped a bomb. Samsung announced that SDC24 is scheduled for October 3, which will be the formal launch date of One UI 7. It means the major upgrade is 99 days away from eligible Galaxy smartphones.

Samsung Developer Conference will be held on October 3, 2024. The first day of the conference will surely have a keynote on the One UI 7 launch for Galaxy devices. This is the second major development in the Android world, which is worthy for most consumers.

Yesterday, Google confirmed its Made by Google event for August. This is when the company might officially reveal the new Android version alongside Pixel phones. A few hours back, Samsung also announced its Galaxy Unpacked event taking place in July.

This year’s One UI Beta could start in August, following the Android 15’s launch. We expect a two-month-long Beta testing activity for the Galaxy S24 series. Following the unveiling at SDC24, One UI 7 could be rolled out to select Galaxies in late October.

The next One UI iteration will debut with the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Z Fold 6. The One UI 6.1.1 will be provided to certain Galaxy phones in August this year. Additionally, the One UI 7 would also go official on the Beta channel, giving us our first look at advancements.

Android 15 will bring core enhancements and privacy features to Samsung devices. The remaining part is for Samsung, fueling the One UI with new Galaxy AI features, enhancing the user experience, adding new useful features, and addressing long-standing issues.

For sure, the Galaxy S24 series will be the first to get the Beta update in August. Later this year, when Samsung begins Stable One UI 7 rollout, the first batch of devices will contain the Galaxy S24 series alongside the upcoming foldable smartphones.

Samsung preps ‘Family Data Sharing’ feature for Galaxy Watch

Second One UI 6 Watch Beta

Samsung is working on a “Family Data Sharing” feature for Galaxy Watch through the Health app. The feature is under development and may be rolled out after the Galaxy Unpacked event next month. Interestingly, we already have our first look at the feature’s user interface.

AndroidAuthority managed to activate the UI of the Galaxy Watch Family Data Sharing feature within Samsung Health app. It will let you monitor the data that your child or family member’s smartwatch receives. It would require manual setup, giving consent to link across Samsung accounts.

Samsung has also focussed on privacy and security while creating the data-sharing feature. The under-development user interface suggests that all members of the family will be able to stop sharing or change what and how much they share at any time.

Before you trigger, the function will display what’s going to be shared under the data-sharing feature. Additionally, you will need guardian consent to access a child’s health info. Once shared, the data will be deleted automatically after a certain period of inactivity.

Samsung should bring this upgrade to all smartwatch models with the One UI 6 Watch update. The app’s code doesn’t have any restrictive codes that would keep it limited to the upcoming Watch lineup. Galaxy AI’s inclusion is also appreciated, up-leveling health monitoring.
