Samsung One UI 7 beta

Later this year, Samsung will roll out the Android 15 to Galaxy devices, but we are already hearing about the One UI 7.0 update. Google is all set to push the Public Android 15 rollout this October, while Samsung is delaying One UI 7 Beta.

Samsung is internally working on the Android 15 One UI 7.0 update. The Galaxy S24 series will be the first to get it on both Beta and Stable channels. Dozens of Galaxy devices are eligible for this major upgrade, forming a pretty big rollout later this year.

Android 15

The new OS entered Developer Preview in February and Public Beta in April. Google so far released four major Public Beta updates for Pixel devices. The Android 15’s QPR Beta activity has also started ahead of the October release for Pixels.

Android 15 focuses on improving device performance and power efficiency. It’s also well-optimized for the artificial intelligence era. Consumers can expect faster app loading, longer battery backup, enhanced security and privacy, and core improvements at the OS level.

One UI 7

Samsung might kick off the One UI 7 Beta Program my mid-September. For the Galaxy S23 series, the company released the first Beta in August 2023. Well, events aren’t the same for the Galaxy S24 series this year as the Beta Program is delayed.

The Korean tech giant may expand the Beta trial to select mid-range phones. Galaxy A55, Galaxy A35, and some Galaxy M series phones may also be eligible. Like every year, One UI 7 Beta should be available in at least 7 countries including the US.

One UI 7.0

Samsung is set to hold this year’s Developer Conference on October 3. The event’s stage will be utilized to introduce new One UI 7 features and enhancements. Besides, One UI 6 Watch and Tizen OS upgrades for TVs may also be unveiled by the Korean tech giant.

One UI Beta build can be installed on your primary handset, but we prefer avoiding it. If you don’t want to counter bugs and functional errors, Beta activity isn’t for you. Consider waiting till the Stable rollout commences as Samsung will also provide new features with One UI 6.1.1.

Samsung Galaxy S24 One UI 6.1.1 India

Samsung is committing 7 years of Android upgrades to select Galaxy devices. The newly launched Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Galaxy Z Fold 6 are guaranteed for software longevity. It’s the same upgrade policy that Samsung introduced with the S24 series.

The South Korean tech giant is significantly increasing the longevity of its flagship phones. Now, consumers can keep their Galaxy for at least 7 years. Samsung will take care of the device owners from the software side, providing new features and security enhancements.

Besides, Samsung is refining its hardware spare parts availability. Spare parts will be made available for years so you can get your Galaxy repaired. It’s a great approach to reducing e-waste and helping consumers use their devices.

Samsung Galaxy devices that are eligible for 7 years of Android upgrades:

  1. Galaxy Z Flip 6
  2. Galaxy Z Fold 6
  3. Galaxy S24 Ultra
  4. Galaxy S24 Plus
  5. Galaxy S24

All of the devices come with Android 14 pre-installed. This means the last major upgrade for the above-listed phones would be Android 21. Besides, Samsung will continue to release regular security updates and feature drop updates until 2031.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6

The new software plan had not been expanded to older lineups like before. Still, the Galaxy S23 series as well as Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 are eligible for 4 OS upgrades and 5 years of security patches. It’s uncertain but Samsung could provide an additional OS upgrade to some devices.

Samsung’s software strategy is inspired by Google’s support for Pixel phones. The company’s affordable Pixel 8a handset is also supported by a 7-year update plan. Therefore, we guess that the Galaxy S24 FE might join the 2024 flagships with Samsung’s top-notch software plan.

In addition, the Korean tech giant may also expand the update support to the next-gen flagship tablet lineup. The Galaxy Tab S10 series could launch this year, which might also be supported by seven years of OS and regular software updates plan.
