WhatsApp bringing new feature to block unknown messages
WhatsApp is rolling out a fresh beta update for Android users with version 2.24.17.24. This update introduces a new feature that enhances user privacy and manages unknown messages.
The latest update adds a feature that lets users block messages from unknown accounts if they send several messages. This means if someone you don’t know starts sending too many messages, WhatsApp will automatically block them.
Through the new feature, WhatsApp aims to protect users from spam and potentially harmful content. You just need to turn on a simple option named “Block unknown account messages” under advanced settings.
In addition to blocking unwanted messages option, this update also improves app performance. By reducing the number of messages coming from unknown sources, WhatsApp can prevent the app from slowing down or crashing due to too much data.
Previously, WhatsApp brought another privacy feature that allowed users to turn off link previews. This feature stops automatic previews from appearing when you share links. It helps to protect users browsing activity from being exposed to third parties.
