Samsung Auto Blocker September 2024 update

Samsung is expanding One UI 6.1.1 to several Galaxy devices. The new software update brings various new features and functional improvements. One UI 6.1.1 also upgrades the Auto Blocker feature for extra-strong security.

One UI 6 debuted the Auto Blocker feature to unlock enhanced security on Galaxies. Samsung has located the feature within Security and Privacy under Settings. The new One UI 6.1.1 takes Auto Blocker capabilities another step ahead.

Auto Blocker protects your device and data by preventing the installation of apps from unauthorized sources and blocking malicious activity. Simply put, the feature, when activated, doesn’t allow app sideloading on Galaxy devices.

Starting with One UI 6.1.1, additional security features including Maximum restrictions, have been added. You can now set Auto Blocker to apply maximum restrictions to get the highest level of protection against malware and security threats.

Hyperlinks and automatic downloading attachments in messages are blocked, location data is removed when sharing pictures, and shared albums in Gallery can’t be used. Learn how to activate Maximum restrictions in Auto Blocker.

Step 1. Turn on the Auto Blocker feature > Tap Maximum restrictions.

Step 2. Turn on the switch to enable.

While enabling Maximum restrictions, some of your phone’s features will be restricted.

Turns on App protection: Checks apps installed for malicious activity.

Blocks device admin apps: Prevents activation of device admin apps and work profiles to protect against potential malicious attacks.

Blocks auto downloading attachments: Prevents automatic downloads of message attachments to protect against malicious software, while still allowing manual downloads from trusted sources.

Blocks hyperlinks and previews: Protects you from accidentally clicking on hyperlinks or viewing preview images, keeping you safe from malicious websites.

Removes location data when sharing pictures: Prevents the recipient from being able to determine where the picture was taken when you attach a picture to a message in Samsung Messages or share a picture from Samsung Gallery.

Blocks shared albums: Protects you from sharing sensitive information and accepting invites from unknown senders.
