Rumor: Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra prototype hints at Note 20’s return

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra

Way back in 2020, Samsung launched the Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra. A new rumor about prototype hints at the return of the Note 20’s design in the Galaxy S25 Ultra. The claim is for one of the five prototypes of Samsung’s next flagship.

According to the rumor, the Galaxy S25 Ultra could have Note 20 vibes. Not the Note 20 Ultra as it boasts a curved screen and sharp corners. The S25 Ultra could have a flat display, an in-built S Pen, and slightly reduced corners.

Recent rumors hint that the Galaxy S25 Ultra could get a Note 20-inspired design. It doesn’t mean the camera sensors will be placed on a rectangular island on the backplate. The sensor arrangement will be as per the signature design.

Samsung’s Note 20 series was iconic on its own, which became the last Note lineup. The company kept the S Pen functionality alive by expanding it to S Ultra and Z Fold models. However, the next year’s model promises some major design refinements.

The rumor says that Samsung has five test devices (prototype) for the Galaxy S25 Ultra. The nearly final prototype, which may enter mass production, is closer to the Note 20. It “leaves a strong impression” suggesting an elegant design decision.

Samsung recently launched its latest foldable smartphones. The company is preparing to introduce a new Fan Edition – Galaxy S24 FE next month. The Galaxy S25 series is expected to be announced in early January 2025.

The S25 Ultra could get a 6.8-inch flat sAMOED screen, 200-megapixel camera, and S Pen support. The phone will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 for Galaxy, which is said to outperform Apple’s new A18 Pro processor.

The rumor aligns with the collection of rumors floated online. Slightly rounded corners and flat display decisions are already rumored. The frame may be quite thin and angular, offering an iPhone like appearance hand handling.
