Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra will be available with up to 16GB RAM leaker says. The upcoming device recently surfaced on Geekbench with 12GB RAM. However, the tipster confirmed that 12GB isn’t the highest RAM option on the Ultra.

According to IceUniverse, Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra will feature up to 16GB RAM. The higher RAM could be paired with the 512GB and 1TB storage option that Samsung usually sells exclusively from its official website and Shop app.

S25 Ultra’s storage configurations could include 12GB RAM + 256GB storage and 16GB RAM + 512GB and 1TB storage. The non-Ultra models are expected to be available in 12GB RAM + 256GB and 512GB storage configurations.

It’s worth noting that the OnePlus 12 and Google Pixel 9 Pro already offer 16GB RAM options. The larger RAM in S25 Ultra would further improve AI tasks and user experience. The phone could also keep a part of RAM reserved for AI processing.

Chinese phone makers are aggressive about hardware specs. The phones debut a 1-inch camera sensor, over 5000mAh battery, hundreds of W charging speeds and so on. However, Samsung sticks with its legacy of prioritizing practical shifts.

The company is reportedly testing Standard and “for Galaxy” variants of Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 (8 Elite). The US variant was spotted running the Standard version, while the European model had an overclocked “for Galaxy” Snapdragon.

Samsung launched the Galaxy S24 series in January this year. The event is scheduled early from the usual February timeframe. Well, 2025’s first Galaxy Unpacked could be held in January, debuting the new Galaxy S25, S25 Plus and S25 Ultra.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra redesigned renders

Samsung is working on the new Galaxy S flagship models for 2025. Recently, an alleged Galaxy S25 Ultra was spotted running a Snapdragon 8 Elite chip with 8GB RAM. It’s quite scary input, suggesting a terrible downgrade if true.

The Galaxy S25 Ultra was previously spotted with the upcoming Snapdragon chip with 12GB of RAM. The chipset frequency was different for the US and European models. However, the RAM paired with the SoC was 12GB.

The alleged S25 Ultra was benchmarked on Geekbench 6.3.0. The handset secured 1456 points and 6522 points in single-core and multi-core tests. These scores are quite scary as the 12GB model exceeded 3000 and 9000 points.

Fake listing?

It is indeed possible. Someone may have just trickled the model number to list a fake entry on Geekbench. We can’t assume Samsung could bring an 8GB variant of the Galaxy S25 Ultra as it’s not sufficient on the base model either.

Samsung will be using Snapdragon 8 Elite for the Galaxy S25 Ultra. The phone will have at least 12GB of RAM, while a 16GB RAM option is also reportedly coming. If the 8GB RAM listing is genuine, we hope Samsung will abandon it.

The Korean tech giant is currently working on One UI 7, while the S25 series will come pre-loaded with One UI 7.1. There’s a remaining three months left in the launch, hence performance is expected to rise further with software optimization.
