One UI 6.1.1 update comes with wonderful new Galaxy AI features and enhancements. Debuted with Samsung’s newest foldables, the One UI 6.1.1 has expanded to many older models such as the Galaxy S24, S23, and S22 series.

Samsung has recently pushed the One UI 6.1.1 update to Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Z Fold 3. This expansion reiterates the company’s commitment to user convenience. You can consider it as an appetizer before the major One UI 7 update.

Samsung has started the One UI 6.1.1 rollout to the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S23, and Galaxy S22 series. Recipient foldables include the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Z Fold 5, Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Z Fold 4, as well as Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Z Fold 3.

To update your Galaxy, head over to the phone’s Settings. You will find the Download and install button within the Software update submenu. Ensure a stable internet connection for a seamless installation experience.

 

Do note that this is a major One UI upgrade for Galaxy devices. It appears as One UI 6.1.1 on foldable and tablet models only. Galaxy S series phones remain on One UI 6.1, but features from the 6.1.1 is being deployed.

One UI 6.1.1-based Galaxy AI includes a Sketch to Image feature. This is a Generative AI function that lets users create stunning images by just simply drawing on a blank page in Samsung Notes or an image in Samsung Gallery.

With a wide variety of AI-generated portrait styles, you can create a whole new look for your profile image in Contacts or someone else’s, or use Photo Editor to invent something new for any of your photos that have faces in them.

Samsung Keyboard added a smart new Composer feature, letting users generate text messages, email, or social media posts. Live Translate is also updated to support many non-Samsung apps such as WhatsApp and Meet.

Verizon is rolling out the September 2024 security update for Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus, and Galaxy S23 Ultra smartphones in the US. The fresh update improves system security and stability to provide a better experience.

Samsung Galaxy S23 series users are getting the September 2024 security update on the Verizon network in the US through the One UI build version:

  • Galaxy S23 – S911USQS4CXHC
  • Galaxy S23 Plus – S916USQS4CXHC
  • Galaxy S23 Ultra –  S918USQU4CXI1

The fresh update brings security improvements, bug fixes, stability optimization, and functional enhancement to provide a better experience. Through this update, the company app protects your devices from several vulnerabilities and threats.

It is worth mentioning that the September 2024 patch addresses 1 critical issue and 43 high-level ones. One of these issues was already fixed in earlier updates, and another one doesn’t impact Galaxy devices.

Along with Google’s patches, Samsung is adding 23 of its own fixes to improve security in My Files, Theme Center, One UI Home, Knox, and Dex. The update overall improves the stability, security, and performance of the device.

To access the latest update on your smartphone, go to the Settings app, tap on Software Update, and then select Download and Install. This will initiate the update process, and once completed, you’ll enjoy a more personalized and efficient smartphone experience.

Galaxy S25 Ultra will run Android 15-based One UI 7.1 if Samsung doesn’t change what it did in the past several years. Galaxy users are eagerly awaiting the Android 15 Beta Program, while work is also underway on S25’s firmware development.

Samsung will debut One UI 7.1 with the Galaxy S25 Ultra next year. The other two models; S25 and S25 Plus, will also boot the new version. It will include additional features and enhancements over the Android 15-based One UI 7.

One UI 7.1 – The next big thing?

There are many rumors about the upcoming One UI 7.1 skin. Samsung is said to be working on improving system animation and fluency. New AI features are certain, with battery optimization should remain in Samsung’s priority.

Following the launch of the Galaxy S25 series, One UI 7.1 features will be expanded. The expansion of features will take place with firmware updates, covering many older Galaxy models including the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S23 series.

One UI x.1 Version – A brief overview

One UI 2.1: Released in February 2020, Samsung’s Android 10-based One UI 2.1 included many new features, including an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate on the S20 series, Quick Share, Music Share, and additional camera modes.

One UI 3.1: Samsung launched the Android 11-based One UI 3.1 in January 2021. Pre-loaded in the S22 series, the new version added new features such as a redesigned lock screen, improved performance, and a new camera interface.

One UI 4.1: Samsung’s One UI 4.1 is based on the Android 12 operating system. Released in January 2022, it debuted a Material You design language, improved privacy and security features, and a new widget gallery.

One UI 5.1: Released with the Galaxy S23 series, the Android 14-based One UI 5.1 software came with several new features such as improved customization options, a new battery widget, and a new Expert RAW camera app.

One UI 6.1: This version is based on Android 14 and launched with the Galaxy S24 series.  Over the One UI 6, the 6.1 brings a new design language, improved performance, and new features alongside a wide array of Galaxy AI functionalities.
