What if there’s no public One UI 7.0 Beta Program this year?

Samsung One UI 7

The first official announcement on Samsung’s Android 15 optimization may come tomorrow. SDC24 is taking place in the US, and what if Samsung refrains from starting public One UI 7.0 Beta Program this year?

Samsung could skip the public One UI 7.0 Beta Program this year. Google has done with optimizing Android 15 for Pixel devices. The Beta trial has already jumped to QPR sessions, with Pixel users getting a Stable update this month.

One UI 6 Beta started in August last year, with a Stable release happening in October. Things are just different this year, as we don’t even have One UI 7’s Beta build. Well, it doesn’t mean Samsung hasn’t done anything in the past few months.

We assume Samsung may have been conducting One UI 7 Beta internally – on a large scale. Rigorous testing would have been underway intending to push the Beta Program on a small scale or keep it to limited models and users.

Android 15 is delayed

Pixel 9 series launched with Android 14, rather than the latest Android 15. The Made by Google event was already held ahead of its usual October timeframe. The company kept the Android release in October but launched the Pixel 9s early.

It is said that Android 15 had some severe issues that may ruin the experience. Google released four major Beta updates, but the Stable release hasn’t taken place so far. Android’s delay has impacted Samsung’s optimization for Galaxy devices.

iOS 18 update is available

Apple, as usual, deployed this year’s major OS upgrade on eligible iPhones. Apple Intelligence features will come out gradually. However, iPhone users are happy with the latest optimizations and features available in iOS 18.

Vivo rolling out Android 15

Vivo defeated Google in the Android 15 rollout race this year. The Chinese firm scheduled to start the release on September 30, but pushed even earlier. As per Vivo’s roadmap, a handful of more smartphones will be updated this month.

James is the lead content creator on Sammy Fans and mostly works on Samsung's firmware section. His first phone was the Galaxy S4 and continues to get new S series devices. Most of the time, James tries to learn about new technologies and gadgets but he also sneaks a bit of free time to nearby rivers and nature.

Samsung One UI 7.0 release may take some additional time

Samsung One UI 7

Samsung Developer Conference will be held tomorrow. Hours before the event, a Samsung insider shared uncertainty about the One UI 7.0 release at SDC24. The tipster also indicated another delay in the availability of major updates.

According to IceUniverse, One UI 7.0 release news remains a mystery for SDC24. The leaker, meanwhile, highlighted that the Android 15 update for Galaxy devices won’t be released for quite some time.

This input suggests that Galaxy S24 users have to wait further. The software’s testing is underway for a few months. Samsung’s server is updating builds quite frequently, however, we haven’t spotted any Beta build with a “Z” marking.

Android 15 update is set to be released for Pixel phones this month. Last year, the new OS was also released in October, but Samsung’s Beta started in August. This year, the company hasn’t announced anything about the new One UI skin.

Well, the clouds of mystery will be cleared tomorrow at SDC24. The event live-stream can be accessed through Samsung Developer’s official website along with their official social media handles on X, Facebook, and YouTube.

One UI 7.0

Samsung’s One UI 7.0 has been in the news for a pretty long time. The update was expected to enter the Beta channel in August, and then in September. Now, this year’s Developer Conference is almost arrived but uncertainty isn’t faded away.

One UI 6.1.1 is being distributed to a handful of flagship models. However, the mid-cycle release isn’t made for all Samsung devices. Therefore, the major One UI 7 update is awaited by millions of Galaxy smartphone and tablet users.

Samsung AR zone update

Samsung recently pushed the One UI 6.1.1 update to Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Z Fold 3 released in 2021. The major update is gradually rolling out to 2021 flagships. The Galaxy S21 series was also launched in 2021 but is ineligible for most Galaxy AI features.

Still, Samsung is sharing many One UI 6.1.1 enhancements with 2021 flagship models. Mid-range and budget phones are not eligible for the incremental update. These features and enhancements would come as part of the One UI 7 update.

One UI 6.1.1 brings Smart Select to the Apps Edge panel. You can quickly call phone numbers, locate addresses, enhance images, and more. Selecting something on the screen with Smart Select will now present suggested actions related to the selection.

While Galaxy AI is not included, One UI 6.1.1 contains pretty much stuff. Samsung has already rolled out the Circle to Search feature. Explore all the changes included in One UI 6.1.1 update through the official changelog below:
