Samsung remains leader of the global smartphone production in Q3, 2020: Report
Samsung retains the top spot in the global ranking of smartphone brands by production in Q3, 2020. While its biggest rival, Apple managed to get the fourth position along with Huawei, says a market researcher.
According to the data compiled by TrendForce, the Korean firm tops the market with the production of 78 million units in the third quarter of 2020, which is almost 42% QoQ (Quarter on Quarter) increase. The company took a market share of 23.2% among all the smartphone makers globally.
Meanwhile, four spots among the top six smartphone vendors were reserved by the Chinese phone makers. Oppo surprisingly managed to the second position with 13.4% market share, followed by Xiaomi at the third spot with 13.2, very much close to Oppo.

Apple and Huawei shared the same spot of number four with a 12.5 market share each and last but not least, Vivo was ranked at number 6 with an 8.9% share.
TrendForce claims that the Global smartphone production for Samsung will fall to around 62 million units due to the end of the holiday stock-up activities in Europe and North America and the competition from new iPhones.
The research firm also expects the global smartphone production to reach 1.25 billion units, recording a YoY (Year On Year) decline of 11%, and also the global production of 2021 to increase by 9% YoY to 1.36 billion units.
Looking at the current trend, the phone makers are currently focusing on 5G this year that will be continued to 2021. As the suppliers of the smartphone SoCs expand their 5G network for the mid-range and budget devices, the global market share is estimated to grow from 20% this year to 40% next year.

Galaxy AI is the key highlight of the Galaxy S24 FE. The phone has equivalent AI capabilities and features to the Galaxy S24 series flagships launched earlier this year.
Photo Assist, Instant Slow-Mo, Live Translate, Chat Assist, Note Assist, Composer, Browsing Assist, Sketch to Image, PDF Overlay Translation and Interpreter are the key Galaxy AI features.

Google has just recently released a version 7.0 update of its Google Authenticator app, which arrives with some helpful changes that make using the app simpler and more user-friendly. Along with a fresh look, there are some changes to how you manage your 2FA (Two-factor authentication) codes on Google Authenticator.
Previously, you had to long-press on the six-digit code to copy it to your clipboard. Now, with the new version, a single tap on the code is all you need to copy it. While long-pressing still works sometimes, tapping is the new default way to copy codes to make it faster and easier.
The app’s design has also been updated with a fresh update. In the 6.0 version, you had to long-press to access options like editing, deleting, or rearranging your accounts.
In version 7.0, you can now swipe right to rename an account, swipe left to delete it, and drag to reorder your accounts. These 7.0 changes make it quicker and more intuitive to manage your list of 2FA codes on the Google Authenticator app.
Moreover, the update also includes Dynamic Color support, which allows the app to match your phone’s theme for a more personalized look. It also adds a Privacy Screen for additional security.
Furthermore, the update brings a new account search feature to make it easier to find specific codes if you have many accounts. The update is available on Play Store, you can install it now to enjoy fresh changes.
