Earlier today, WhatsApp released a new beta update (v2.21.9.4) for Android users, which brings the ability to change the playback speeds of voice messages. But recently, the company has reportedly disabled this feature from its server due to unknown reasons.
On the other hand, the Facebook-owned company just seeded a new beta update via Google Play Beta Program. This new release reached select WhatsApp beta testers, which carries version number – 2.21.9.5. If you’ve joined the beta testing, then you can check for the update through Google Play Store.
According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp users are currently able to delete the chat from the same device. It means, if your WhatsApp is also logged in to more devices, then the chat will not be removed from other linked devices.
However, the blog wishes to see two different options – “Delete from this device” and “Delete from this and all linked devices”. Furthermore, the same source claimed that this feature is currently under development and WhatsApp could enable this functionality anytime.
Aside from this, WhatsApp has recently released a new beta update, which added a new image animation in the header of the Disappearing Messages section, which defines the sense of disappearing messages function.

WhatsApp has released a new feature named Voice Message Transcripts, which allows users to transcribe voice messages into text. This update, announced by Mark Zuckerberg, is now available in the latest WhatsApp for Android.
The voice message transcripts feature is a helpful tool for people who prefer reading over listening to messages, or for those in noisy places where listening to voice notes is difficult.
To use this feature, you just need to go to Settings >> Chats >> Voice Message Transcripts in the app and turn it on. WhatsApp may also ask you to enable the transcription feature when you receive a voice message.
Notably, the transcripts are created on your phone, not on WhatsApp’s servers. It means your voice messages and transcriptions are kept private and secure.
To start using voice message transcripts, you’ll need to download a language data package. At the moment, the feature supports English, Spanish, Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, and Hindi. WhatsApp also plans to add more languages in the future. Once the transcriptions are done directly on your phone, you don’t need an internet connection to use the feature.
