Samsung’s May 2021 security update reaches the Galaxy S10 series

After bringing the latest security improvements to a number of newer Galaxy smartphones, Samsung has recently released the May 2021 security update to its older Galaxy Note 10 series flagships in select European countries. Now, the company’s older S series devices, the Galaxy S10 joined the party with the new security patch.

Galaxy S10 joins May 2021 security update device’s family!

According to the latest information, the South Korean tech giant released the May 2021 security update to the Galaxy S10e, Galaxy S10, and Galaxy S10+ devices. However, it’s an initial rollout and currently spotted in select European markets, mainly in Switzerland.

Camera and Quick Share improvements!

Just like the other high-profile smartphones, the Galaxy S10 lineup also getting the same software update, which brings improvements to the performance of the Camera, enhancements to the Quick Share function in order to improve file sharing between Galaxy devices alongside the May 2021’s security patch.

Availability

Users can identify this release via build numbers: G970FXXUAFUE3, G973FXXUAFUE3, and G975FXXUAFUE3 for the Galaxy S10e, Galaxy S10, and Galaxy S10+. As of now, it’s only reached the Exynos variants in Switzerland, the company could expand it to more markets in the coming hours/days.

Galaxy S20 and Note 20 received Dual Recording

Previously, the Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy S20 series devices had also received the May 2021 security update. After months of waiting, Samsung has finally begun rolling out the stable One UI 6 Watch update based on Wear OS 5 to eligible Galaxy Watches. The Galaxy Watch 6 series is the first to receive the stable One UI 6 Watch update.

As announced, Samsung has started the One UI 6 Watch update rollout with Galaxy Watch 6 and Galaxy Watch 6 Classic. This update is currently live for these watch users in Korea and the company will soon expand it.

Users of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 and Galaxy Watch Classic users can verify this major update via firmware ending with BXJ5. They will have to download a 1.8GB package to install the update.

Samsung One UI 6 Watch

One UI 6 Watch update brings several new features to improve health, fitness, and overall smartwatch use. It adds the Energy Score, which gives you a score based on sleep, activity, heart rate, and more, with tips to help you improve.

Sleep tracking now includes details like movement, heart rate, and respiratory rate, in addition to Sleep Apnea detection. The update also includes New fitness features like the Race option, which compares your running or cycling performance to past workouts, and custom Workout Routines based on your goals.

The update also offers new watch faces, like the Simple Digital and Ultra Info Board. Users can now users Double pinch gestures to answer the call, dismiss alarms, and more.

Samsung pushed an urgent new software update for select Galaxy devices. Many users received a home screen pop-up, recommending they install the latest update.

According to the info, Samsung pushed an urgent new software update for the Smart Switch Agent. The nature of this update seems regular, but it may have included noteworthy stuff for your Galaxy.

Smart Switch Agent update notes read that urgent new software updates are available for your device. Update your software to the latest version to prevent errors from occurring.

Smart Switch Agent works as a supporting plugin for data transfers. Samsung’s Smart Switch is a quite useful service that lets Galaxy users transfer their data and apps seamlessly.

The Smart Switch Agent may have been rendered vulnerable to a serious threat or flaw. Samsung doesn’t usually push such updates mentioning “urgent new software update” to the consumers.

The update weighs nearly 3 megabytes, with specific changes remaining to be known. The notice has two options for users; either they can “Update” with a single click or “Cancel” it.

The page says “Downloading via your mobile network may result in additional charges. If possible, download via a WiFi network instead. Your device may restart after the update.”
