At the Annual Developers Conference – I/O 2021, Google introduced the Android 12 operating system. The company believes it comes with the biggest and radical design changes in history along with improved privacy and of course, it includes plenty of new and iconic features.

However, the development of the Android 12 OS is underway as its Beta 1 lets Pixel and select non-Pixel smartphone users help the company in order to bring a stable version among the public, which could happen somewhere in September this year.

In a recent development, a new Android 12 change has come to light that indicates a major privacy upgrade. Our folks over at XDA reports that Google Android 12 will prevent third-party apps from sharing apps, and can only use the native interface of the Android system.

The report further suggests that the developer of Sharedr recently stated that an error occurred in the adaptation of Android 12 as the system no longer prompts to select Sharedr or the system’s native sharing page, but directly calls the latter. Following this, Google confirmed that it was the intended behavior and not a bug.

It’s worth noting that several Android apps support the sharing function. When the user taps the sharing button, Android’s native sharing function gets invoked if the sharing purpose is not implemented by itself. You can check the official response of Google on this matter below.

“We had never actually intended to allow apps to replace the share dialog, that Intent is for apps to launch the share dialog. Being able to replace the share dialog is also becoming increasingly impossible — you couldn’t implement the direct share part of the UI, nor the personal vs. work profile tabs in R, etc. This is just not something that is feasible to allow apps to replace.”

Do note that it is not yet clear whether this change will affect OEM manufacturers, such as Samsung, LG, etc. who have modified their sharing pages. But it is not expected to affect the built-in sharing page of the App, because that is another way to achieve it.

However, Samsung’s One UI 4.0 will be based on Google’s Android 12 operating system, this privacy change will also be implemented on the Galaxy phones. Check out our full coverage over the upcoming One UI 4.0 – latest news, eligible devices, release date, beta, and more.

Samsung galaxy Z Flip 6 September 2024 update

Samsung could pack the Galaxy Z Flip FE and Z Flip 7 with Exynos processors. The company could launch its first affordable foldable phone next year. The device could get a different camera and processor from the Galaxy Z Flip 7.

Leaker Jukanlosreve revealed that Samsung could use the Exynos 2400e in the Galaxy Z Flip FE and Exynos 2500 in the Galaxy Z Flip 7. The former Exynos variant powers the Galaxy S24 FE, while the Exynos 2500 is an upcoming product.

Samsung previously intended to use Exynos 2500 in the Galaxy S25 series. However, the chip has a major performance difference from its Snapdragon counterpart. This led the company to solely rely on the Snapdragon 8 Elite for the S25 series.

Exynos 2500 is being manufactured using Samsung Foundry’s 3nm process node. The yield rate is quite low (around 20%), which is far from the production threshold. However, Samsung chose the path to produce the chip at such a low yield rate.

Exynos 2400 has proven to be a decent chip with no frustrating flaws. The Exynos 2400e could be used in the Z Flip FE. The “e” model could be made using IPoP (Integrated Package on Package) tech, which is cheaper than the standard method.

Recently, a Korean media outlet reported that Samsung Foundry has started mass production of a 3nm Exynos 2500 chip. It was initially intended to be used in the S25 and S25 Plus, but issues pushed it towards the second-half debut in the Z Flip 7.

Samsung said this is just the beginning of its rebates journey in New York. The company looks forward to working with partners to expand these retail rebates to more products and in more states across the United States.

Pay attention, the IRA provides rebates and tax credits to households across America. New York is leading the way in providing direct retail point-of-sale appliance rebates, supporting an affordable clean energy transition.

Inflation Reduction Act
