What’s memory expansion?

Oppo revealed that memory expansion technology is an auxiliary function. When the running memory is not enough while using the smartphone, a part of the storage space can be temporarily used as the running memory.

As result, smartphones can open more applications at the same time even without performance reduction in order to make the best use of the mobile phone configuration and most efficient operation.

How Oppo consumers can enable memory expansion after update?

Eligible users can expand the running memory of their Oppo smartphone by opening device Settings followed by About phone. With the updated ColorOS 11 version, you can find a new option to select the needed expansion memory size under the memory expansion section and restart the phone after selection.

Eligible Oppo phones for memory expansion

According to Oppo, all the Find X2 series, Reno4 series, Reno3 series as well as Oppo A series and K series devices supports memory expansion technology. However, Oppo is releasing this s/w update to Find X2 series models widely, while the Oppo Reno4 series grabbing it gradually.
