YouTube starts testing autoplaying video previews for Android TV
Earlier, Google released a new feature on its website for YouTube, which allows you to seamlessly convert from your phone to your desktop. And, now the company is testing another feature for Youtube, which makes users feel very annoying.
According to the information (via 9to5Google), Youtube has now started testing autoplaying video previews for Android TV. It’s worth noting that this feature is only available to a small number of users on Android TV and Google TV.

This new autoplay video preview feature is similar to yours on the desktop and mobile YouTube apps. The feature will work when you scroll through the videos displayed on the main screen of the YouTube app. When you stop the scroll bar on any video, it will play the video preview together with the audio for a few seconds.
On mobile or desktop devices, the video plays completely. Conversely, the “Audio Preview” feature will show clips or parts of YouTube videos on Android TV and Google TV devices. It is not yet clear how wide the scope of this option is.
The video will continue to play from the point you watched when you selected it. For some users who want to remain silent, this can be a bit annoying. So now it’s best to turn down the volume before scrolling through YouTube.
The sound will start to play, and as the interface of YouTube for Android TV becomes larger and includes a grid of video thumbnails, auto-playing videos may be more difficult to detect.
Notably, autoplay video previews are enabled by default, which means that if you find them annoying or frustrating, you must manually disable them. Fortunately, as you can see from the screenshot above.

Google Wallet is getting a huge boost with a series of updates. The latest updates to Google’s digital payments and wallet application span the Wear OS app (passes), website, and Gmail integration (train tickets).
As part of “improving the passes experience for Wear users,” the Google Wallet app on your wrist now supports:
- Grouped passes appear together in the list. When tapped, “each pass will be shown on a carousel.”
- Pass archiving: Open a pass and scroll down for “Archive” alongside “Delete pass” and “Open on phone.” Will move to “Archived passes” section at the very bottom of the Wear OS app
- “Unscannable passes”
Google announced that these updates are now widely available.
Earlier this year, the US tech giant debuted wallet[dot]google[dot]cot. It helps users manage Google Wallet and Google Pay on the web. With the latest update, the website is now available in many more countries.

Google says this is “just phase 1 of our journey of making it available to every GPay and Wallet user, everywhere!”
Apart from this, Google announced that Google Wallet for Android is also expanding to more markets including Bermuda, Cambodia, El Salvador, Guernsey, Kosovo, Morocco, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, and Tajikistan.
Other Google Wallet updates (for developers) include:
- “The closed loop transit API now supports physical to digital card conversion.”
- “Google Wallet now supports VDV (((eTicket Services Motics spec for secure mobile ticketing in Germany. Transit agencies and developers are welcome to leverage Google Wallet specifications here to cryptographically secure tickets from copying, falsification or fraud.”

One UI 7.0 update is also set to improve how the clock format aligns on Samsung devices, especially through the QuickStar settings. This current clock alignment issue has been more noticeable when using Korean or Chinese characters. Users can expect improvements in future updates.

Google Calendar will soon be updated with an array of new flairs. Samsung Calendar comes as default on Galaxy phones, while Google Calendar can also be used after the Play Store install.
The latest version of Google Calendar teases upcoming changes including new flairs. The app readying more specific flairs for everyday events that will be managed by keywords.
AndroidAuthority discovered that words like “cinema” or “coffee” might trigger corresponding imagery as part of adding a touch of personality and quick visual identification to your calendar.
Additionally, each of the 12 months features its unique flair to reflect the changing seasons. Words like birthday and train/journey schedule could also trigger a specific flair for visual appearance.
Google pushed the Calendar visual refresh to a limited number of users. You could soon be able to access them on your Android or iOS device, if not, keep the app updated to the latest version.
